Summary

The VerbaViva app collects no data. It has no accounts, and we cannot see your books or your listening. This website counts visits without cookies, and the email list stores only the address you give it — both are described below.

The app

VerbaViva has no account, no analytics, no ads and no third-party SDKs, and no server run by us. Your audiobook files stay on your device and in your own iCloud Drive. Your place in each book syncs through your own private iCloud database, which we cannot read. Access to the Music library is used only to list the audiobooks in it.

This website

To learn which pages are read, which questions are opened, and how many visitors go on to the App Store or the email list or click the support address, this website uses Umami, an analytics tool that runs on a server we operate in Canada. No one else receives the data. Umami sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.

For each visit it records the page, the site you came from, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language, and the approximate location (country, region and city) derived from your IP address. Umami does not store your IP address. It combines it with your browser details into a pseudonymous code that changes every month, so your visits cannot be linked from one month to the next. We do not use this data to identify anyone. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, nothing is recorded.

The server that receives these requests keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, for 14 days to keep it secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site works for its visitors (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). The analytics records are deleted after 25 months.

The hosting provider also keeps standard server access logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) to run and secure the site, and deletes them on its normal rotation. We do not use them to identify visitors.

Email list

This applies only if you sign up. The list is kept with EmailOctopus, whose data is hosted in the EU. It holds your email address plus the record of your consent (date, time and IP address of sign-up and of the confirmation). Open and click tracking is switched off. The legal basis is your consent: sign-up needs an explicit tick and a confirmation by email, and you can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. We use the list to tell you when VerbaViva is released and about major updates. Your data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Your rights and contact

You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent. Write to Bratz Technologies, Inc. at support@verbaviva.app. It is a Canadian company: you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. People in the EU/EEA have the rights the GDPR gives them, including the right to complain to their data protection authority.
